Narrabeen All-Nighter 2016
Posted Monday 4 Jan 2016 by Dave Kistle
The Narrabeen All-Nighter is an ultra-running event organised by Ron Schwebel (Sydney Striders) and Glenn "Horrie" Lockwood who has run with St George.
There was a strong St George presence at the run, with the hospitality of our tent appreciated by participants and our red and white singlets very distinctive.
Congratulations to participants in the 12hr event (provisional results):
Alia Karaman (1st woman in the 5km loops of the 12hr trail with 105km; this would have placed her a close 2nd or 3rd in the 12hr path event of 1km loops)
Chris Mullen (at least 105km in the 12hr trail, 2nd in his age group)
Ilyas Karaman (approx 75km), and
Michael Gentle (45km after an injured year).
We also crewed for Horrie in the inaugural Midnight Marathon and in the 12hrs for Mickey Campbell.
Mickey is a local runner and adventurer who, with Hannah Diviney, is the creator of Cerebral Palsy Alliance events such as the Krazy Kosci Klimb and CP participation in the Sydney Marathon, which individuals from St George have supported.
Thankyou to First Aiders Amanda Nairn and Belinda Lockwood and to Masseuse Lyn Delaney.
Dave Kistle helped with race logistics.
Thankyou also to the crew of Hannah and Fintan Diviney, Evan Fragiadakis, Brandon Nairn, Aidan Karaman, the Carey Family, Robyn Basman and Brian Mackie; most of whom were assisting for 12hours!
Special mention to Kim Delaney for setting up the St George tent with Chris, crewing, and being relief masseur.
