Melbourne Track Classic

Ben St Lawrence
has recorded an A Qualifying time for the 2010 Commonwealth Games. Ben finished fourth in the Open Men's 5000m, and was the first Australian.

Bridey Delaney
has recovered from a minor track collision to win the Open Women's 1500m event at Olympic Park, Melbourne. Bridey finished in front of Beijing Olympian & 4:05 athlete Lisa Corrigan and 4:10 athlete Kaila McKnight.

Connor Mulholland
broke the U16 male club record for 2000m Steeplechase (76.2cm) whilst competing at the NSW Secondary All Schools Track & Field Championships on 5 Nov 2009. Connor's time of 6m 25.47s defeats the 24-year old previous record of 6m 29.1s set by T Clarsen on 23 Nov 1985. Congratulations Chuckie.

New Club Records

Hame Sele
has broken the U14 male club record for Discus Throw (1kg) on Feb 5 at the ANSW Permit Meeting at Illawong with his throw of 45.91m; and subsequently improved this record on Feb 14 at the NSW Junior & Youth Championships with a throw of 46.55m. These throws eclipse the previous record of 43.24m that was set by Nick Kipriotis on 9 Dec 2000.

Hame has also broken the U14 male club record for Javelin Throw (600g) on Feb 5 at the ANSW Permit Meeting at Illawong. His throw of 45.66m breaks the 26-year old previous record of 43.00m set by A Noisier on 27 Jan 1984.

Hame's record breaking performances this season have been under the guidance of coach Ray Russell

New Club Record

Scott Manns
broke the U16 male club record for 100m Hurdles (0.840m) whilst competing at the Australian All Schools in Hobart on 4 December 2009. Scott's time of 13.94 seconds eclipses the previous record held by Christopher Barakat of 14.05 seconds since 12 December 1999. Congratulations Scott.

has run another outstanding race to place second in the open men's 5000m in 13:38.73 behind Collis Birmingham who broke his own meet record with 13:24.62.

Congratulations to St George athlete
Nathan Johnston
who has claimed two silver medals this week in Adelaide. Competing with pilot Matthew Meisel-Dennis, Nathan claimed podium places in the 1000m Tandem Time Trial and the 4000m Tandem Pursuit. To cap the week the pair notched up a classy time in a 200m Tandem Flying Sprint on Saturday. Well done Nathan.
